Challenge

Financial literacy in the U.S. is critically low, with fewer than 40% of adults able to answer basic financial questions, despite money shaping nearly every part of daily life. The challenge was to rethink how people engage with financial concepts entirely. Not as information to absorb, but as systems to interact with. The goal: make complex, often intimidating topics accessible, engaging, and impossible to ignore.

Approach

Fivestone designed six distinct experiences, each powered by real-time technology and custom software in order to translate financial concepts into playable environments. Built primarily in Unity and supported by integrated hardware systems, each installation responds dynamically to guest input, turning abstract ideas into tangible outcomes. From motion tracking and projection mapping to AI-driven interaction and full-stack kiosk applications, every experience was engineered to ensure that learning happens by doing and not by explaining.

Market Shuffle

A real-time barter simulation powered by a custom Unity logic engine, where dynamic vendor behavior and escalating trade chains create pressure and complexity. A touchscreen paired with a physical overlay makes negotiation feel tactile, immediate, and competitive.

Hoard of Gold

A full-body interactive environment driven by depth sensing and projection mapping, where guests physically move through and interact with a simulated vault of gold. Real-time physics and multi-user tracking transform wealth into spectacle.

Financial Tellers

AI-rendered fortune tellers combining machine learning, voice recognition, and stylized animation. Guests ask questions naturally, triggering dynamic responses synchronized with lighting, sound, and character performance.

NYSE Photo Experience

A simplified market simulation where guests trigger outcomes by ringing a physical NYSE bell. Randomized logic and large-scale animation create a fast, visual expression of market volatility.

Interest Invaders

A retro-inspired arcade game built in Unity, powered by a custom compound interest simulation engine. Physical controls and real-time feedback turn long-term financial growth into something instantly visible and intuitive.

Design Your Own Currency

A full-stack interactive system combining local AI rendering, real-time visualization, and digital distribution. Guests create custom currency featuring their own likeness, processed on-device and delivered instantly as a shareable asset.
