Gratitude Real Time Digital Art Installation

We were approached by the Flytevu agency to develop a digital installation that could help patients and visitors from VUMC share statements of gratitude for their healthcare workers. The solution needed to be a highly impactful art experience that could be sharable on social channels and easy to interact with.

Details

Our solution was a digital art installation that ran on a 26′ video wall supported by media servers. Visitors accessed a microsite our team built via QR code that allowed them to enter statements of gratitude that could be shared on social while also blooming in real-time on the gratitude tree. Features of this installation were:

  • Color palettes and camera angles that moved and shifted throughout the day to create variety and visual interest.
  • A 3D camera system that ‘auto-focused’ on sections of the tree where gratitude statements bloomed.
  • A microsite with AWS servers connected to a Unity-based interactive.
