CinemaCon Architectural Projection 2015
It’s our favorite time of year: working with DWP Live to develop content for projection mapping at CinemaCon! You can check last year’s project for DWP Live and CinemaCon 2014 here. This year, our challenge was coming up with a completely different experience using the same architecture. Our solution was to really feature Barco’s mascot, Barco Boy. In the end, he was chased by a giant snake through stunning Mayan ruins and complex mirror-filled halls. A custom soundscape played through DWP Live‘s amazing speaker stack turned the story into a ground-shaking, truly immersive experience.
On the tech side, we tried out the new octane engine to expedite the massive render times. This GPU-based render engine matched the speed of our entire 14-computer farm on just 1 box! We also delivered the render as a set of UV maps, enabling DWP Live to map the output to an actual 3D laser scan of the building using their D3 media servers. Check out some BTS photos below:
