Fivestone Studios has formed a strategic alliance with Storyville Post, one of the premiere post houses in Nashville. We are excited about the opportunities this venture will provide both to us and to our clients. Joining our animation strengths to their post production prowess will increase our creative superpowers exponentially.
Here at Fivestone Studios, we are gearing up for several projects that will keep us buzzing until well into September. Two prominent projects are with the Johnson Group in Chattanooga. The first, with an extremely tight turn around, is a national spot for Krystal Restaurants. The second is a flash microsite for a utilities company. Along with the Johnson Group projects, are a variety of others including a spot for a local college. Stay tuned. We'll post the results later.
Fivestone recently completed work on a series of promotional videos for Freescale, a massive producer of semiconducters. We were hired by Nashville based Magnetic Dreams to assist with the design and animation. The videos highlight new user technology currently being developed similar to tech imagined in movies like Minority Report. Check back in September. We'll be posting excerpts.

We recently completed a series of videos for the The Gideons International 2010 Conference. Along with a series of testimonial videos, each highlighting a core value of the company, we produced an intro piece and coordinating countdown videos. These feature 2D animation in a 3D space, drawing on the style of Saul Bass, a graphic designer known for his animated credits and posters for many Oscar winning movies. His work for films such as The Man With The Golden Arm, Vertigo, & West Side Story, has come back in vogue recently, being copied in movies like Catch Me If You Can & Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Bass also designed many iconic logos including the ones to the left. You can especially see his influence on this project in these. Check back at the end of July. We'll post the Intro and countdowns after they debut at the conference.

Fivestone's very own Kyle Jones is doing his part to help recovery efforts following the historical flood here in Nashville. After designing a poster & putting it on his blog, the artwork picked up some buzz and soon a local print shop, Advocate Printing, offered to print the posters and sell them for $20 each, giving $15 to United Way of Nashville for flood relief. We're proud and happy to support Kyle, his creativity, and his efforts. You can buy Kyle's poster here.
In November we moved from the rolling hills of Franklin, TN to a cool 100-year-old brownstone in downtown Nashville and we finally have the pictures to prove it. The building has been recently renovated and is, well, awesome. We have a groovy new space on the second floor and definitely feel like kids wearing grown-up clothes, meaning we need to grow into the space. If you're in the area we'd love to have you come by and see for yourself.
On February 20th, Traylor Woodall, president of Fivestone Studios, attended the AAF Nashville Addy Awards, and walked away with two awards for our Krystal Blitz campaign. We were awarded a Gold Addy in the Internet Commercial category and a Silver Addy in Internet Special Effects. Keep your fingers crossed. Fivestone will go on to compete in the regional Addy Awards for Internet Commercial.
Working with Stone Ward, Fivestone added graphics to a campaign for Arkansas State University. The style was inspired by the use of graphics in Stranger Than Fiction. You can see one of the videos here. One of the highlights was working with Stone Ward's video team. They're a highly collaborative bunch and sent us their Final Cut projects, allowing for far greater creative control.
